But the reality was that even with all that, something inside was out of alignment and honestly, I wasn’t really that fulfilled.
I often felt totally stressed out, rushed through my days, and left with a sense of not having enough time … time for family, time for healthy choices, time for solid friendships. And while the external successes and good-looking life was real, the reality was that it wasn’t real(ly) me. But I didn’t know it yet.
So at 40, I took stock (I clearly remember the day I was commuting to work and yelling in my car “There’s got to be more than this!!”). I began to look for something that would bring more meaning to my life … and it had something to do with being in service to others.
